1. Sewer Backup

Sewer Backup is one of many serious problems that needs urgent attention. Sewer Backup may be noticed by toilet overflow, sink overflow and bathtub overflow. However, you can take specific steps to prevent the back up from getting out of hand until an emergency plumber arrives; here are some of the steps you can take:

2. Clogged Toilet

If you have a Clogged Toilet  make sure you turn off the water supply to the toilet. The valve is usually somewhere behind the seat itself

3. Sink Overflowing

If your sink won’t drain, as a result of a severe clogging, plug the other sink that is not clogged and work through the clog in the clogged sink with a plunger. If it does not work, contact an emergency plumber quickly.

4. Flooded Basement

Flooded Basement can happen as a result of a Clogged Drain, faulty appliances (hot water tank, washing machine, dishwater), cracks in the foundation walls or a heavy rain fall (if the basement is not waterproofed). Some of these causes require an emergency plumber and some require a long term pro-active solution.

Call an Emergency Plumber

1. If the plunger does not remove the clog that caused the sewer back up, call an emergency plumber quickly. A more advanced step may be necessary to get rid of the clog and solve the drain back up problem.

2. If you have checked all the plumbing fixtures and appliances for possible water leakage and  none of them are dripping or pooling, call an emergency plumber as early as possible. Little drops could become a large pool of water that may cause serious trouble. It could compromise the structural integrity of your home and jeopardize your health.

While it may seem negligible, little leakages of water in your home, if left unattended to could result in a more significant problems that will cost you tens of thousands of dollars. Do not wait till the situation gets out of hand before you call an emergency plumber.
